250 New MBBS Seats Added: College-Wise Breakup, Schedule and Registration Details
Three self-financing colleges account for the 250 new seats added in Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2026. APS Medical College and Hospital in Kancheepuram got the biggest share at 150. Madha Medical College in Chennai added 50, and Arunai Medical College in Tiruvannamalai added another 50. If you've already registered for Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2026 Round 2, you can go back in and add these three colleges to your choice list before it locks.
Round 2 registration opened September 7 and shut the next evening. Choice filling for Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2026 Round 2 started September 9 and stays open till September 13. After that, allotment gets processed on September 14, and results come out September 15. If you're allotted a seat, you'll have from September 15 to 18 to download the provisional allotment order, and the 18th is also the last date to actually join the college.
Seats weren't scarce even before this addition. The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee's vacancy data already showed around 2,960 MBBS and 1,902 BDS seats open across government, self-financing, ESIC and private colleges for this round. The 250 seats added now come on top of that count, and they're separate from it, since these are freshly sanctioned seats that hadn't shown up in the earlier vacancy list at all.
One thing worth checking before you add these three colleges to your list: not every seat is open to every category, so look at the quota split first. Everything for registration, choice filling and results for Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2026 runs through tnmedicalselection.net, the official Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling Registration 2026 website.
