CBSE Science Challenge Selection Process and Eligibility

Every student of Classes 8 to 10 in a CBSE-affiliated school is eligible for Round 1, which each school holds in its own classrooms. The paper has stimulus-based MCQs and a 60-minute limit.

CBSE calls it a power and speed test. Accuracy comes first. When scores tie, the student who finished in less time gets preference.

Each school registered in Round 1 can nominate six students for the inter-school Round 2: the best two from each participating class, chosen from students already registered for Round 1. Registration for Round 2 runs from November 17 to November 25, 2026. A school that has not completed Round 1 cannot enter Round 2.

Every Round 2 participant gets an online participation certificate from the board. The best performers get an Appreciation Certificate.
