Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026: 1,931 MBBS, BDS Seats Vacant; Check Round 3 Dates

8,579 MBBS seats available in round 2, 7,630 were filled (88.93%), leaving 949 vacant:

• Government medical colleges (42): 4,980 seats, 4,825 filled, 155 vacant
• Private medical colleges (23): 3,149 seats, 2,625 filled, 524 vacant
• Private universities (2): 450 seats, 180 filled, 270 vacant

2,617 BDS seats available, 1,635 were filled (62.47%), leaving 982 vacant:

• Government medical colleges (5): 317 seats, 254 filled, 63 vacant
• Private medical colleges (23): 2,200 seats, 1,346 filled, 854 vacant
• Private university (1): 100 seats, 35 filled, 65 vacant

The CET Cell has announced the Maharashtra NEET UG Round 3 schedule for centralised MBBS and BDS admissions:

• Round 3 registration deadline: September 26, 2026, till 6 pm
• Upload of required documents: September 26, 2026, till 11 pm
• Seat classification for round 3: October 6, 2026
• Choice/preference filling: October 7 to 9, 2026
• Round 3 selection list: October 11, 2026

Candidates hoping to secure a seat through this round must register by the September 26 deadline and upload colour scanned copies of all required original documents the same day. 

Since the Maharashtra NEET UG State Merit List governs how these vacant seats get filled, candidates should review the vacancy breakdown by institution type before Finalising their preferences during the October 7-9 choice filling window.

With private medical colleges accounting for the largest share of vacant BDS seats (854 out of 982), and private universities showing comparatively low fill rates in MBBS, candidates still seeking admission have a clearer picture of where opportunities remain. Given the tight turnaround between document upload (Sept 26) and choice filling (Oct 7-9), candidates should use the coming weeks to research colleges rather than waiting until the window opens.
