JIC Report 2026: Key findings on women qualifiers
Of the 43,112 women who registered for JEE Advanced 2026, 40,562 appeared in both papers and 10,107 qualified. The qualification rate among registered women rose to 23.4% from 21.7% last year, which means one in four registered women qualified, compared with around one in five in 2025.
In 2026, 3,814 female-only seats, including female supernumerary seats, were allotted, and 37 women secured seats through the gender-neutral pool.
JEE Advanced 2026 Category-Wise Qualifiers
JEE Advanced 2026 was held on May 17, and 1,79,694 candidates appeared in both papers. The result was declared on June 1, and 56,880 candidates qualified. The qualifying criteria were relaxed to ensure that at least twice the number of candidates qualify as the seats available in each category.

The qualification rate for SC candidates rose by 9.8 percentage points and for ST candidates by 8.1 percentage points. The general category rate fell from 43% to 39.8%, while the OBC-NCL rate dipped from 18.2% to 17.5%.

JEE Advanced 2026 ranks are also used by institutions outside the IIT system, including IISc Bengaluru, IIM Lucknow, the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology.
