Both books have been introduced to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, replacing the previous editions used in earlier academic sessions.
NCERT Class 9 Textbook 2026 27 Maths: Where to Buy It
Students and teachers can purchase the NCERT Class 9 Textbook 2026 27 Maths edition through the following authorised channels:
- NCERT sales counters

NCERT has specifically advised buyers to purchase textbooks only from these authentic sources, given the risk of unauthorised or pirated copies circulating for newly launched editions.
NCERT Books for Class 9 to 12 PDF Download: Broader Curriculum Revision
This Class 9 release is part of a larger, ongoing revision covering NCERT Books for Class 9 to 12 PDF Download materials across the senior school curriculum. The textbook revision initiative is being rolled out in phases, with new learning materials introduced class by class as each revised edition is finalised, rather than all at once.
NCERT Class 9 Science Book 2026-27: Current Status and Latest Update
This particular announcement covers only the Mathematics and Social Science textbooks for Class 9. NCERT has not indicated a separate revised Science textbook release alongside these two; students and schools currently using the Science curriculum should continue referring to existing available editions until any further update is announced.
With Mathematics already available and Social Science arriving within days, schools following the Class 9 syllabus for 2026-27 should plan their procurement accordingly. Since these are the first textbooks launched under the revised NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023 framework for this grade, teachers may also need some lead time to familiarise themselves with the updated structure and content before the academic session is in full swing.
Students and parents are advised to check the official NCERT website regularly for updates on any further Class 9 textbook releases, including subjects beyond Mathematics and Social Science.
